How to hide songs on Spotify
Open the Spotify mobile app and go to a playlist or an album with the song you want to hide

How to Unhide a Song on Spotify
Changed your mind about a hidden song? Here's how to unhide it:
- Open the playlist or album where you originally hid the song
- Tap the three dots (...) next to the song
- Tap Remove from hidden (or tap the crossed-out circle icon to toggle it off)
The song will be playable again in that location. If you hid it in multiple playlists, you'll need to unhide it in each one separately.
What Does Hiding a Song on Spotify Actually Do?
Hiding a song marks it as unplayable in that specific playlist or album only. Hiding does not:
- Remove the song from Spotify
- Prevent it from playing in other playlists where it hasn't been hidden
- Remove it from search results
When Spotify reaches a hidden song during playback, it automatically skips it — just like a built-in skip.
Can You Hide an Entire Album on Spotify?
No. Spotify does not have a one-tap option to hide a full album. Songs must be hidden one at a time, manually, within each playlist or album. There is no bulk hide feature.
How to hide recently played artists on Spotify
Hiding recently played artists is simple.
- Open the Spotify mobile app and go to Your Library
- Tap Settings
- Scroll down and tap Hide Recently Played Artists
- Tap Hide on iOS or hide this artist on Android
Your recently played artists will now be hidden from your library. You can unhide them at any time by repeating these steps, but selecting Unhide on iOS or hide this artist on Android instead.
Hiding and unhiding songs or artists is a great way to customize your music experience! Enjoy exploring the world of music with the Spotify app!
Why would you want to hide songs on Spotify?
Hiding songs on Spotify can be useful if there are certain songs that you don't like or have heard too many times. Hiding these songs will prevent them from appearing in any of your Spotify playlists and albums, allowing you to customize your listening experience. It's also helpful for keeping recently played artists out of your library if you want to hide them from view.
By following the steps outlined above, you'll be able to hide and unhide songs and artists on Spotify quickly and easily. Enjoy exploring the world of music with the Spotify app!
What are unplayable songs on Spotify?
Unplayable songs on Spotify are songs that cannot be played due to a technical issue or copyright restriction. You can hide these unplayable songs so they don't show up in any of your playlists or albums, although you will still see them listed in your library. If you come across an unplayable song, hide it using the steps outlined above and it won't appear anymore.
Do hidden songs still count toward my daily play limit?
No, hidden songs do not count towards your daily play limit on Spotify. When you hide a song, Spotify will no longer play it in any of your playlists or albums, so it doesn't count towards your daily usage limit.
