How this automation works
This is the first of 3 recipes for saving money with Time of Use Rates. First Recipe CHARGES up the water heater temperature using cheap electricity. Second Recipe "COASTS" the water heater across the high rate period with minimal energy. Third Recipe RECHARGES water heater to medium temperature after rates go back down. Use all three recipes together for full control. Time periods are for PG&E utility TOU rate E-6 from May 1 to Oct 31.
